We usually meet at the club hives on the second Sunday of every month from 10am. We start with a chat and a practical demonstration and this is a great opportunity to ask other members for advice. We then open up and inspect the hives and new members in particular are encouraged to have a go.

The club membership fee is $40 each year. The year runs from 1 April to 31 March.
To reduce the risk of spreading disease, the committee decided (20th October 2014) to restrict the bringing of any used bee keeping equipment (including gloves) to club days – the only exception is bee suits.
Where required, gloves and other equipment will be provided by the club.
This rule is not just to protect the club hives, but to also protect you from taking diseases home to your own hives.
The club runs a few Introduction to beekeeping courses during the year, check out the calendar for the next available date. The courses are held at the Franklin Beekeepers Club rooms.
